Gilbert Marvin Hare, age 85, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Lofland Park Center in Seaford. He was born in Blades, DE, on July 8, 1934, son of the late Grover Cleveland Hare and Anna (Lingo) Hare. Mr. Hare retired from Millers Furniture Store in Seaford after 35 years. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was an active lifetime member of the American Legion Post 6 in Seaford. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hare was preceded in death by five brothers: Joshua, Grover, Frank, Charles, and Robert and by his son, Steven. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Hare; two children: John Hare and his wife, Luann of Alabama and Rebecca Keim and her late husband, George of Seaford, DE; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a member of the Parsell Funeral Family, 609 East King Street, Seaford, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the Services at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hare's name to the American Legion, Post 6, 230 N Front St, Seaford, DE 19973, the Activities Center at Lofland Park Center, 715 E King Street, Seaford, DE 19973, or to any charity of your choice.
