MaKala Mason Byrd, age 17, of Seaford, DE, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at, A I duPont Hospital for Children. She was born in Seaford, DE, on Monday, March 20, 2000, daughter of Micheal S. Byrd and Kyle Ann Krumm. MaKala grew up in Seaford and knew many people around town. She had just finished her Junior year at Seaford High School and was looking forward to being a Senior. She loved reading, art, photography, working on cars, kayaking, paintball and most anything outdoors. She also had a love for music that she expressed by playing the guitar. Above all, she enjoyed the time spent with her friends and family. She was a loving daughter, sister, grand-daughter and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, MaKala is survived by her step-mother, Heather Byrd of Laurel, DE; her step-father, Chris Krumm of Seaford, DE; her brother, Christopher Krumm; her four sisters: Lauren Miller, Samatha Krumm, Laurel Krumm and Monica Krumm; and numerous extended family members and friends. A celebration of MaKala’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd, Seaford, DE 19973, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.
