Arthur Thomas Newton's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Thomas Newton, affectionately known as “Tom,” on June 3, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on November 28, 1938, in Camden, New Jersey, Tom graduated from Camden Vocational School in 1957. Shortly after, he proudly served in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he began a lifelong career in the automotive industry, working in auto body repair, painting, and as a skilled auto mechanic.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Marie Newton, and his brother, Charles R. Newton Jr. He is survived by his children, Tammy Tierno (Patrick) and Michael Newton Sr. (Marsha); seven grandchildren: Candice Brown (Josh), Krystle Moorefield (Chris), JD Kuti (Heather), Kristin Kouts (Chase), Michael Newton Jr. (Mara), Thomas Newton, and Christopher Newton; and twelve great-grandchildren: Joshua, Abby, Hudson, Chipper, Ashton, Wesley, J.J., Rook, Ruby, Nevaeh Star, Gunner, and Levi. He also leaves behind his sister, Joan McKeown — along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, deep love for family, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those closest to him.
A private family service will be held to honor Tom’s life.
