As Paymaster for the DE Devil Dogs, Detachment 780, Marine Coros League, I am sending prayers and condolences to the Bennett family from all our members. Spuck was a Life member of our Detachment, which membership was not mentioned in his obituary. Marines share a special camaraderie and we are a team unit. Semper Fi, Marine Bennett, and thank you for your help through the years. Diane George
Rest In Peace, good friend. Our prayers are with the Bennett family.
A Senate tribute is being prepared to memorialize the life of Mr. Bennett. I so appreciated knowing this giant of a man, who served his nation and his community in so many ways.

I was sorry I was unable to make the services for Spuck. What a fine gentleman he was, and I was lucky to have known him. He was a great Fire Commissioner and also a great fellow businessman. Please accept our most sincere condolences from the Rush family to the entire Bennett family. Semper Fi Spuck!
My Dad’s (Phil) childhood friend. They grew up together @ Double Mills near Mardela Springs. The mill is now an historical site thanks to the efforts of Spuck. They went to school together at the one room Snethen School House still located at Snethen United Methodist Church. Dad always called him Bryan. My Dad liked the name and thus my name even though I spell my name with an I, not a Y like he spelled his name. I always called him Mr Bennett as my teacher at Seaford Senior High School. I had a real nice visit with him just before the Covid nightmare. That will be a longtime memory for me. He has entered into a well deserved rest. God’s speed Mr. Bennett.
