Carol Jean Jones' Obituary
Carol Jean Jones, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of Friday, May 30, 2025.
Born on December 20, 1942, Carol was the daughter of the late Walter and Ida (Riggin) Adshead. She received her early education locally and went on to lead a fulfilling life as a mother, entrepreneur, and spirited soul. From 1991 to 2000, Carol owned and operated Jones Upholstery, where she poured her talent and creativity into every stitch as a professional seamstress.
Carol married the love of her life, John E. “Jack” Jones, Jr., with whom she shared a devoted marriage built on humor, hard work, and deep affection until his passing. Together, they raised two children and built a warm, loving home filled with laughter and conversation.
A woman of many interests, Carol loved sewing, watching movies, debating politics, cooking from scratch, inventing clever solutions to everyday problems, and playfully teasing her kids. She was sharp-witted, big-hearted, and always up for a good discussion — or a new idea.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqulin O’Bryan; her son, John E. Jones III; and her two granddaughters, Elena O’Bryan and Caitlin Jones, all of whom were the light of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, and her brothers, Cary, Ronald, and George Adshead.
Carol will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to sign the virtual guestbook on her tribute page to share memories and messages of condolence.
