Crystal F. Haymond's Obituary
Crystal Francine Haymond, 61 lovingly known by friends and family as Christy or Chris; passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home in Greenwood on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Crystal was born on November 06, 1963, the daughter of Nancy Smith (Breeding) and the late Donald Lee Friedel.
Crystal was proceeded in death by her husband, Clayton Haymond of Greenwood, DE, her father Donald Friedel of Greenwood, DE and stepfather Thomas Smith of Dover, DE.
Crystal is survived and will be remembered by her 4 Children Jonathan Downes, Christopher Friedel (Susan), Kari Friedel (Alvaro) and Kristin Friedel. Crystal’s memory will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren Aleckz (Pilar), Daniel Jr., Tyler, Ava, Jonathan Jr., Katie, Alexis, Brianna, Jordon, Nevaeh, Berenice, Florencio, Gilberto, Liam as well as 3 great grandchildren, her mother Nancy Smith, brother David Friedel (Peggy) and Twin sister Catherine Reed.
Crystal was cherished by all those that knew her, she could light up a room with her humor, she enjoyed shooting pool in her free time, but her biggest accomplishment and passion was driving a school bus for the Woodbridge School District for over 30 years. Crystal was named school bus driver of the year in 2015; she loved driving the bus and getting to know each one of her students.
A Celebration of life service will be held at the Greenwood VFW on Saturday, June 7, 2025.Family and Friends may call at 5:00 PM. Interment will be held privately at the St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood at a later date.
