Dolores Marie "Dee" Beard's Obituary
Dolores Marie "Dee" Beard, age 80 of Seaford, DE, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, surrounded by her family, at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover, DE. She was born on July 10, 1941, in Seaford, DE, daughter of the late Monroe B. and Lillie (O'Neal) Elliott.
Mrs. Beard was a former bookkeeper for several companies before she retired. She enjoyed breakfast with her girlfriends, reading, music, especially Elvis and George Strait and trips to Lancaster, PA. She always loved to dance and was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan. Mrs. Beard cherished the time spent watching her children and grandchildren play sports and relished her days with her great-grandson, Kainer. She was a lifelong member of Wesley Church in Seaford and very devoted to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Lloyd F. (Skip) Beard, Jr. and her brother, Robert Lee Elliott. She is survived by her children: Kevin (Cindy) Beard of Catonsville, MD, and Julie (Jamie) Hopkins of Camden, DE; her grandchildren: Tyler (Meghan) Beard, Kelsie Willey, Kelli Beard, Eric (Brooke Moore) Willey II; her great-grandchild, Kainer Willey; her sister, Doris (Gerry) Ballard; her spoiled dog, Jase; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 PM.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Beard's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
