Estella Mae English's Obituary
Estella Mae English of Seaford, DE passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Estella was born in Laurel, DE on December 7, 1928, Pearl Harbor Day, to the late Roy Albert Massey and Edna Lizzie Massey. She retired from Hurlock Sportswear after 20 years. She was also a loyal employee of Woolworth and Ames until they closed their doors and then Roses. She also worked at Burpee’s for 7 years until the business closed.
Estella loved spending time with her family above all else. She especially loved to cook for them and making sure nobody left her house with an empty stomach. Along with being an avid Phillies fan and reader, Estella enjoyed watching old western movies, Nascar and professional wrestling. She also had a passion for Native Americans, stray pets and lighthouses.
Estella is survived by her children: James Windsor and his wife, Star, Wanda Windsor, Karen Bowden and her husband, Wayne, and William T. Windsor III; her grandchildren, Joanna Adams (Todd), Dianne Baldini (Jodie), Valerie Bridgeham, David Elliott Jr. (Lainie), Roy Parsons, Nicole Leer (Dustin), Candice Windsor, Matthew Windsor and Zachary Windsor; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Estella was preceded in death by her husband, Earl English, a daughter, Janet Parsons, her sisters, Martha Keith and Margaret Greenly, her brothers, Jennings Massey and Raymond Massey Sr. along with three special sisters-in-law, Doris Williams, Alice Parks and Frances Sheridan.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, 609 E King Street, Seaford, DE 19973, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Estella English to Brandywine Valley SPCA at 22918 DuPont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE 19947.
