Estelle T. McCarthy's Obituary
Estelle T McCarthy, age 89, of Seaford, DE, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA.
Born in Seaford, DE on June 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mamie (Colodonato) Thomas.
Estelle was known for her great sense of humor although her greatest joy was that she loved spending time cooking for family and friends, where she always had an extra seat at her table. Estelle was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford and was one of the two oldest members of the Bridgeville Union Methodist Church Ladies exercise group, and attended regularly for almost 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. McCarthy; a daughter, Kara J. Powell and daughter-in-law, Allison M. McCarthy 3 brothers, Fred, Phil, and David Thomas and 2 sisters: Rose Robinson and Diane Tyndall. She was survived by 3 sons: James F. McCarthy, II of Blades, Daniel B. McCarthy of Seaford, and Jeffrey T. McCarthy of Chincoteague, VA. 3 daughters: Elizabeth A. Braun and her husband Johannes of Germany, Kathleen M. Campfield of Albertis, PA, and Patricia McCarthy Feo and husband Mike of Macungie, PA. 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also 2 sisters: Sandra (Chris) Weber of Salisbury, MD and Theresa Nero of Seaford. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E. Stein Highway, Seaford, DE 19973. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM from Watson-Yates Funeral Home, 609 East King Street, Seaford, DE. Interment will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Seaford, DE, following Mass.
