Gloria K. Foskey's Obituary
Gloria K. Foskey passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Seaford, DE, at the age of 97. Born on March 28, 1928, in Secretary Maryland, Gloria led a life filled with love, service, and the simple joys that came from being surrounded by nature and family.
A proud alumna of East New Market High School in North Dorchester, Gloria graduated with the class of 1946. Known for her athletic prowess, she played basketball during her high school years, endearing herself to teammates and classmates alike with her competitive spirit and sportsmanship. Gloria's early career included serving as a waitress in Ocean City, where she honed her natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
For 39 years, Gloria dedicated herself to working for DuPont, a role that showcased her unwavering work ethic and collaborative spirit. Her colleagues admired her not only as a peer but also as a friend who brought warmth and wisdom to every interaction.
Beyond her professional life, Gloria was an avid lover of the outdoors. Whether it was bird and deer watching in her backyard, fishing and hunting with her husband, or tending to her garden, she found joy in connecting with nature. At home, Gloria was renowned for her cooking, particularly her corn pudding, spaghetti, chicken and dumplings meals that nourished both body and soul.
Gloria’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a constant source of love and guidance, bringing a kind and wise presence to every family gathering.
She is survived by her adoring daughter Julie F. Moore (Dean), grandchildren Ashley Hudson (Chris) and Kassie Truitt (Ross), great-grandchildren Hayden, Bristol, Reese, Karson, Leighala, Khristian, Lalilah, Cage, and Nova, along with nieces and nephews. Extended gratitude is owed to all of her dedicated caregivers, whose compassion and kindness brought comfort and support to her in her final days.
She was predeceased by her parents, Will and Eva Kelley, her beloved husband Clarence Foskey, her eight siblings, her cherished granddaughter Julieanna Moore, and her loving cat, Baby, who brought her companionship and comfort throughout the years.
Gloria’s memory will be carried on by those who loved her, and though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family.
