Helen A. Joseph's Obituary
Helen A. Joseph (née Massey), 73, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 16, 1952, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Lee and Betty Massey. She graduated from high school and dedicated her life to caring for her family, a role she embraced with unwavering love, strength, and pride. She was married to her late husband, Virgil Joseph, with whom she built a life centered on family and devotion.
Helen found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved genealogy, spending hours tracing family roots and preserving history. She had a special fondness for cats, Pepsi, puzzles, and computer games. She enjoyed trips to Pennsylvania with her sisters, making cakes and candies for loved ones, and tending to her yard. She could often be found watching birds, cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and the San Francisco 49ers, or enjoying her favorite foods—steamed shrimp and crabs. Helen also loved playing bingo and, above all, cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, in whom she took immense pride.
Helen will be remembered for her warm heart, her quiet strength, and her familiar sayings, “It is what it is” and “It’s here somewhere,” which brought comfort and smiles to those around her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Morgan.
She is lovingly survived by her sisters, Phyllis Freeman, Elsie Schroeder, and Rose Marie James; her daughter, Amy Joseph; her sons, Jamie Joseph (Cristi) and Jeremy Joseph (Mariha); her grandchildren, Amber, Dustin, Austin, Tyler, Kelsie, Lucas, and Arizona; and her great-grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Trenton, Enslee, Scarlett, Fixeous, Guy, Pal, and Wyatt.
Helen’s legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply and the countless memories they will cherish forever.
