John (Jack) Eldon Mears Jack Mears passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at Lofland Center. Jack was born on October 10, 1932. He was the fourth son and final child of William and Carrie Workman Mears of Seaford, DE. Read Obituary
Our deepest sympathy, love and prayers. We have such incredible, wonderful memories of Jack, from my Jack growing up, to Lions Club Shows, to selling him our home on Poplar Street.
Jack and I sadly, didn't find out in time to attend his services. We would have been there. He was one of a kind, a talented gentleman who left a beautiful legacy. Thank you for sharing him with so many of us, and writing a wonderful tribute.

When Betty Mears was in hospice care at our home, it was one of the most chaotic and stressful times of my life. I was running 100 mph trying to keep up, working from home, family and friends visiting, etc. Everyone visiting had a lot of questions where things were, what to do and I felt like I just couldn't handle much more even though I never vocalized any of this..Jack came to see Betty and he asked me for a tour of our home as this was his first visit (I think he knew I was overwhelmed ). He stopped at every picture, asking about the people in them and complimenting along the way on how we decorated our home. He made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. I will never forget his kindness and how he made me feel that day. He is/was 100% genuine and kind. I consider myself lucky to have married into such a beautiful family. We will miss Uncle Jack.
