Mr. Kline was a sweet man! Sending my love and condolences to you Suzie!
I'm grateful to have grown up right across the street from you Suzie and get to know you and your family. I posted on the Fairmont Times guest book that I'm grateful that you and my Mom and Dad decided to pick Fennimore St. in Fairmont WV to raise kids. I have great memories of growing up there. Jim used to call me Shaky Jake, and I'd hear him call that out from across the street. I don't know how many other Shaky Jakes there are, but I'd like to think I was the first(or only). I can still see him pull up in his car or truck, and come home from a long hard day at work. I always looked forward to our visits at the family Christmas breakfasts and our Labor Day picnics. I know you cared and sacrificed quite a bit for Jim in the latter years of his life, and I'm sure at times it wasn't easy. (I saw that with my Mom caring for my Dad as well.) Such a beautiful picture of love. I know it will take a while to heal, but we have the privilege of getting to see Jim again. I'm thinking that my dad and Jim are fishing for the "big ones" even as I type this. Jesus said in Matthew 5:4, " “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." I'm praying to Him for you to receive that comfort. Love you Suzie.
With great sadness, Shaky Jake.

He would take Doug , John and I Bass fishing. And in the summer would bring home McDonalds for every kid on the block. Which back then was a big deal.
THINKING OF YOU . Wish we could be with you today.Keep the faith. Our Heavenly Father is watching over you. We love you. Gianettino Family

I was one of Doug's playmates. My name is Gary Kerns, and I still live in the same house I did as a boy. I was also friends with Laura, who like Doug, died much too young. I wish to send condolences for James.
Mrs. Kline,
I hope you remember me. I was Lisa Toothman and was friends with Laura as a child. I think of your family often, especially since I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 8 years ago. I have many happy memories of times spent with you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Mrs. Kline, Yesterday I went to visit Grandma Helen on Fennimore and was thinking of each of you as I drove past your old home. I have fond memories of your home there. I smile when I think about spending time with Laurie at your home - swinging on the front porch, listening to music, playing with Pepper and Whiskers and having an ice cold Coke in those little bottles was always such a treat. I talked with my husband about you all over morning coffee. When I read the paper this morning I was taken aback to see Jim's obituary. My deepest sympathies are with you during this difficult time. Many prayers and much love is sent your way. Stefanie (Barrow) Hurst
Dear Suzanne, I read Jim's obituary in the News Journal. I am a cousin (his father Marshall and my father Vernon were brothers). I think the last time I saw Jim was at Aunt Elizabeth's funeral. She lived near me and would visit during her walks. I hope you find comfort knowing others care and are thinking of you.
Sincerely,
Barbara Kline MacKenzie
