Janet Rae Wolford's Obituary
Janet Rae Wolford, age 78, of Bridgeville, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 17, 1947, Janet was the daughter of the late Wanda Reventlow and Ed Burress. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, known for her love for her family.
Janet is survived by two daughters, including Sandra (Scott, Sr.) Nelson; her sister-in-law, Sharon Wolford; her nephew, Carl Almoney; her five grandchildren, including Scott E. Nelson Jr. and Brittany Rae Nelson, whom she adored; and her nine great-grandchildren. She took great joy in watching her family grow.
Janet found happiness in the simple things in life, especially celebrating family outings, and celebrations. She loved thrift shopping and going out to eat with Sharon and Carl, spending time with her loyal dogs, and when her daughter "Sandy" made her favorite morning sausage! She was a lifetime fan of Elvis Presley, and she loved the song "Cotton-eye Joe".
Janet’s warmth, generosity, and humor touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
