Jesus I Evaristo's Obituary
Jesus (Jesse) I. Evaristo, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Lofland Care Center, Seaford DE on August 30, 2023.
Jesse was born on October 12, 1949, in Tamuning, Guam to the late Jesus and Ana (Leon Guerrero). After receiving his GED, he joined the United States Army, serving our country as a sharpshooter, earning him an Army Commendation Medal. After leaving the Army, Jesse began a career in construction, and in 1982 he moved to Delaware.
Jesse was always on the go, he loved bowling, shuffleboard at the Seaford Moose Lodge, looked forward to playing pool at the Nanticoke Senior Center and you could always find him playing the slot machines at the Midway Casino. Jesse will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his huge capacity to love.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his brother Frankie Evaristo, sister Joanne Reid, his first wife, Lola Evaristo and two grandchildren. He is survived by two children: John Evaristo (Cheryl) of Las Vegas, NV and Clarissa Manley (Roy) of Yigo, Guam. He is survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his partner of over fifteen years, Missy Waller of Seaford, DE. Brothers: Joseph Evaristo (Lourdes) of Yigo, Guam, William Evaristo (Becky) of Seaford DE, Victoria Higgins of Delmar, DE, and previous wife, Shirly Evaristo of Seaford DE. Also survived by his beloved Aunts & Uncles: Vicky of Sarasota FL, Dee of Baltimore, MD, Sylvia (Lucio), Rosa (John), and Angustia all who reside on the island of Guam. He is also survived by his Aunt Trinidad (Glenn) of Seattle, WA., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Seaford Moose Lodge on Sunday, September 10th at 3:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 11:00 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 528 Stein Hwy, Seaford, DE with interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
