John Everett McDaniel's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of John E. McDaniel, a.k.a. “CBJ”, of Harrington DE, formerly of Bridgeville DE, who passed away at Bayhealth hospital in Dover DE on 15 May 2024.
He was a member of the Harrington Senior Center, the Harrington Moose Lodge, the National Rifle Association and was a past member of the Owner Operator Association. He was a retired long-haul truck driver and one of the few people who had visited all 50 states and Canada. He liked to shoot pool, ride motorcycles, and play pinochle. He was an avid hunter who was always smiling and had a unique sense of humor. Every dog that ever met him loved him. Every deer and squirrel that ever saw him feared him. He was a friend to many and a professional mentor to several. And beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
John was preceded in death by his father P. Leonard McDaniel and his mother Gatha (Sharp) McDaniel. He is survived by his wife Nancy L. (Severn) McDaniel of 47 years, his daughters Sheila (McDaniel) Sevidal and husband Jay, and Jennifer (McDaniel) Henderson and husband Scott; and his sons John Bobb and wife Beth, Michael Bobb, David Bobb and wife Laurie, Christopher Bobb and wife Mimi, and Douglas Bobb and Taffy; his grandchildren Evan, Maya, Elizabeth, Jeannine, Jessica, Steven, Amanda, Krystal, Drew, Brittany, Zachary, and Brooks; and his great grandchildren Thomas, Emma, Callen, Brody, Jayden, Annabelle, Elora, and Gabby. He is also survived by a sister, an uncle and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at a later date.
