Katherine Eleanor Bergmark's Obituary
Katherine Eleanor (Sleppy) Bergmark of Seaford, Delaware, passed peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning September 13, 2020 at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood, Delaware. She had a long battle with cancer and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Carl Bergmark October 10, 2019. Katherine is also predeceased by her parents John Sleppy and Katherine (Elliot) Sleppy, and her brother Jack Sleppy. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Jennifer and Erik Parks, Deborra Bergmark Peelor and Brent Peelor, and Caroline Bergmark and Francine Wargo; six grandchildren: Kirsten, Nathaniel and Benjamin Parks, Morgan and Shannon Peelor, and Corey Wargo Bergmark. She is also survived by her sister: Joan Murray (Graham Murray); sisters in law: Nancy Conner (Milt Conner), Dorothy Wise, and Joan Bergmark Brown; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Katherine belonged to St Philipp’s Episcopal Church in Laurel, Delaware and St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Seaford, Delaware. She was a member of Eastern Star, and a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years in Pennsylvania. Katherine was born at home on May 18, 1941 in Verona, Pennsylvania, and lived in Springdale, PA, Curtisville, PA, Harwick, PA, Pymatuning Lake, Ohio, Andover, Ohio, and Seaford, Delaware. Katherine, also known as Katie or Kate, was a graduate of Springdale High School and Citizen’s General Hospital Nursing School in New Kensington, PA. She was confirmed and married at Springdale Methodist Church in Springdale, Pennsylvania.
Katherine loved listening to music, dancing, cooking for family, camping, and boating with her family. She loved board and card games.
There will be a memorial service celebrating her life at 1:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Rose Barn in North Park, Pennsylvania.
