Linda Carol Cooper's Obituary
Linda Carol Cooper, age 72, of Seaford, DE, formerly of Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022. She was born on August 25, 1950, in Salisbury, MD, daughter of the late Clifford and Doris (Rathel) Martin.
After high school, Mrs. Cooper met and married the love of her life, William “Allen” A. Cooper and on January 15, 1972, in Sharptown, MD, they started their lives together. She created a beautiful home that was warm and loving for Allen and their two children. In addition to raising her family, Mrs. Cooper was a long-time employee of Woolworth’s of Seaford, where she was well known in her community and made many friends while she worked there.
Mrs. Cooper found the greatest enjoyment in the simple things of life. She enjoyed spending time outside tending her flower garden. Watching and feeding the koi fish in her fishpond gave her many hours of enjoyment. An animal lover, she enjoyed the company and affection of her cats, especially when she was curled up with a good book. Her devotion to her family, however, took precedence above all. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Cooper will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, David “Royce” Duncan. She is survived by her beloved husband, of fifty years, Allen Cooper of Seaford, DE; her daughter, Laura Cox (Randy) of Laurel, DE; her son, Brandon Cooper; her grandchildren, Quinn Duvall (Tyler) of Laurel, DE, Jillian Cox of Georgetown, DE, and Marshall Cooper; her sister Diana Kirkman of Atlanta, GA, and her brother Phillip Duncan of Salisbury, MD.
A celebration of Mrs. Cooper’s life will be planned at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mrs. Cooper’s memory to the Salvation Army, Seaford Corp, 23431 Sussex Highway, Seaford, DE 19973 or www.salvationarmy.org.
