Margaret Helen Cook's Obituary

Margaret Helen Cook, age 97 of Seaford, DE, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Nanticoke Health Services, Seaford. She was born in Wilmington, DE, September 15, 1919, daughter of the late Allen Hearn and Helen (Lawrence) Hearn. She was preceded in death by her husband William T. Cook in 1999, and siblings Harry Hearn and Betty Smarte.
Mrs. Cook had worked for over 35 years in the Banking industry in Seaford, first with the Seaford Building and Loan and later with the WSFS where she retired as bank manager. She was a charter and life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4961. While tending to her yard and garden brought her great joy, she valued most importantly the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Tom Cook of Seaford, DE and Buddy Cook (Judy) of Bridgeville, DE; two daughters, Ann Adams and Debbie Absher (Brooks) of Seaford, DE; five grandchildren, Lori, Rich, Bettie, Lindsey and Hunter; two great grandchildren, Kyle and Matthew; one great great granddaughter; her niece Jean Fuller (Loren) and nephew Larry Hearn (Karen).
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 2:00 PM, at the Watson-Yates Funeral Home, 609 East King Street, Seaford, DE where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post Auxiliary 4961, P.O. Box 496 Seaford, DE 19973.
