MaryAnne McLaughlin's Obituary
MaryAnne Claire McLaughlin, age 91 of Seaford, DE Passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Westminster Village, Dover. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Monday, August 17, 1925, daughter of the late Jacob Truby and Anne Marie (Penney) Keffer.
Mrs. McLaughlin started out her career working for Titleist Golf where she manufactured and inspected golf balls. Following that she worked for the local telephone company as a PBX Operator and later for a local gas company up until her retirement. She also kept busy volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. At the church, Mrs. McLaughlin helped in many facets; she was a sacristan for 15 plus years, she taught 1st grade religious education, she was a lector, a church greeter and the funeral reception organizer for the hospitality committee.
In her free time, Mrs. McLaughlin enjoyed numerous road trips with her husband, especially there annual summer trip to Vermont. Above all, her favorite pass time was to go shopping, she was always ready to browse the department stores at any time. Mrs. McLaughlin was a women of strong faith, kindness, and dedication who took pride in everything she did. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McLaughlin was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1997. She is survived by numerous loving family members and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 532 Stein Highway, Seaford, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Seaford.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. McLaughlin’s memory to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Youth Group, 532 Stein Highway, Seaford, DE.
