Nancy D. Newhouse's Obituary
Nancy Newhouse, known for her deep love, gentle spirit, and kindness, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, in Seaford, Delaware. Born on June 8, 1930, in Cumberland, Maryland, to the late Isaac and Alethea Knick, Nancy's life was a testament to warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family and community.
Nancy married the love of her life in July of 1947 and together they built a home full of love and laughter, raising a family grounded in care, faith, and strong values.
She is survived by her children: John W. Newhouse (Lois) of Summerfield, Florida; Nancy L. Wolfe (Milton) of Seaford, Delaware; and Diana L. Everett, also of Seaford. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Newhouse, her son William H. Jr., and her siblings, Isaac , Arthur (Harold) Clinton Knick, Catherine Marie Athey, and Helen Meleri.
Nancy enjoyed simple pleasures that brought her joy and comfort. She loved working on crossword puzzles and word searches, often with a quiet smile as she solved a tough clue. Her faith was important to her, and she found strength and community at Bethel Worship Center. She also had a talent for gardening and kept her yard filled with colorful flowers. Each season, she decorated her home with care, making it a welcoming and cheerful place for family and friends. One of her greatest joys was hosting holiday dinners at her home, where loved ones gathered to share meals, stories, and laughter.
To know Nancy was to experience her nurturing heart. Those who knew her will hold her memory dear and find peace in the legacy she leaves behind.
