Paul Vincent Jakubowski's Obituary
On Friday, August 11, 2017, Paul Vincent Jakubowski, Sr., age 66, was summoned to leave Seaford, DE and travel to the pearly gates to serve as the head mechanic in his eternal home. After over 40 years of fixing the common folks cars, he now has the opportunity make sure the Almighty’s vehicle is running smoothly. His parents, Stanley and Edna (Edgye) Jakubowski have prepared the perfect welcoming party and are excited to see him after so many years. His beloved wife Pauline has been waiting for him to arrive since 2005 so they could plan their next cruise to the Caribbean. She is looking forward to getting a break from walking their dog Penny and changing the litter for their cats George and Ace.
Always opinionated and hot-headed at times, Paul handed these qualities down to his daughter, Jessica Sickler of Middletown, NJ and her husband RJ may never forgive him for that. The wrench didn’t fall far from the car lift when his son Paul V. Jakubowski Jr. was born as he was blessed with the mechanic’s gene. His wife Donna gets to endure the “car talk” in their Staten Island, NY home. He adored his granddaughters and only grandson and reveled in the stories of all their adventures.
Paul was the baby of the family. He enjoyed his talks with his uncle, Thomas Jakubowski. He had two older brothers, Stanley Jakubowski, who is married to Janet, and John “Jake” Jakubowski and he hated that they got to do everything first. Rumor has it that his passing was all a plan to finally not be last.
Since his children wouldn’t agree to honor his request to be seated in a chair with a beer and a cigarette at his own viewing, Paul has elected for private services.
Everyone who remembers Paul is asked to honor his life in their own way; a story or two of the crazy things he did would be a good place to start. He will be sorely missed.
