Penelope "Penny" Comorat's Obituary
Penelope "Penny" (Robinson) Comorat, age 79, of Milford, DE, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE. She was born on March 9, 1937 in Cambridge, MD, daughter of the late William W. and Pearl F. (Townsend) Robinson.
Mrs. Comorat graduated from Seaford Senior High School in 1955, afterwhich she attended Eastern Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1958, Mrs. Comorat would begin her career at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She would then transition to the Methodist Manor House and retire from Chestertown Nursing Home after more than 40 years of nursing.
Mrs. Comorat was a member and past Chaplain of the Mary Vining Chapter of DAR. As well as a docent for the Seaford Historical Society. In her free time, Mrs. Comorat enjoyed walks on the beach collecting seaglass and caring for her many precious adopted cats. More than anything, she cherised time spent with her beloved family and took great pride in being the family matriarch.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Comorat was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Samatha Comorat. She is survived by her son, Joseph Stephen Comorat III of Laurel, DE; her two daughters: Stephanie S. Smith of King of Prussia, PA and Dawn M. Diamond of Levittown, PA; her sister, Sue R. Bramhall of Seaford, DE; and her five grandchildren: Hayley Comorat, Wyatt Comorat, Kody Cristaldi, Ethan Diamond and Brennan Diamond.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 514 3rd Street, Seaford, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Comorat's name to St. Jude's Childrens' Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place
