Robert A. Ferris' Obituary
Robert "Dobber" Ferris, born on July 18, 1939, in Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, in Seaford, DE, at the age of 85. He was the beloved son of the late Stanley and Emma (Kaelin) Ferris and a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT.
Dobber proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for eight years before embarking on a career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked as a postman for over 24 years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer who enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a dedicated member of the Cove Boat Club in Stamford, CT, and the American Legion Nanticoke Post 6 in Seaford, DE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, William Ferris (Ann), Stanley Ferris, and John Ferris, his sisters, Dorothy Mocker (John) and Mary Jane Cerullo.
Dobber is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki L. (Fuechsel) Ferris, his loving sister, Frances Grant (Peter), his sister-in-law, Anna Ferris, his sister-in-law Rose Mary Ferris, and his brother-in-law, Donald Cerullo and several nieces and nephews.
At Dobber’s request, services will be private.
