Robert John Graham's Obituary
Robert John Graham, age 69 of Milton, DE, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Christiana Care Health Systems in Newark, DE. He was born on March 3, 1951 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Robert and Ruth Ellen (McElroy) Graham.
Bob lived most of his life in New Jersey, growing up in Union. He attended RPI and Montclair State University, leaving school to assist in the family's deli- grocery. Later, he taught computer programming and had a long career at Schering- Plough Pharmaceuticals.
An avid sports fanatic, Bob loved soccer and coached, healed, and worked with many Teaneck players. He could always be found with an ace bandage in hand and kind words of encouragement. Bob coached softball and assisted his wife as they raked fields and helped with baseball and swim teams. Card games, especially poker, and shooting billiards were also on his list of fun. He was an artist and a jokester, and a jack of all trades. Duct tape was always on hand with him. Bob bowled, having a high average of 284. He played golf and retired to his dream job at “The Rookery“ golf course. Every Christmas, he baked cookies, grew his beautiful white beard, dressed in red and loved to be Santa. Above all, Bob cherished time with those he held dear. He was a wonderful husband, the best father anyone could have and the most incredible Pop Pop; a wonderful man who left us suddenly and will be missed always and forever.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Eileen "Penny" Weist. He is survived by his college sweetheart and love of his life, his wife Maryanne (Simler) Graham; his wonderful children: Caitlin Graham, Jannine Nunez (Emmanuel), Carolyn Graham, and Timothy Graham (Julie Gonzalez); the lights of his life, his granddaughters: Annaliese and Gabriella Nunez; his brothers: William Graham (Lorraine) and Jim Graham (Kim); his many nieces, nephews, and special family friends; and his loyal canine companion, Kahlua.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, services were private.
