Ronald Lee Jefferson Sr.'s Obituary
Ronald Lee Jefferson Sr. was reunited with his lost loved ones on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Ronald was first and foremost the loving patriarch of our family. Having raised ten children, he was always surrounded by loved ones, the laughter of the children, and more recently a menagerie of dogs, cats, a buzzard named Beaky, and any other animal that he happened to come across.
Ronald was born in Seaford on September 6, 1934, the son of the late Ralph and Hattie (Wilson) Jefferson. He was taught how to work hard when he was still a very young man. Also having a large number of siblings and a large extended family, he was known to have a little bit of a wild side.
Ronald served in The Army National Guard for over a decade, receiving The Armed Forces Reserve Medal and The Medal of Military Merit.
He is survived by his children: Ronald Jefferson Jr. (Gail) of Dagsboro, DE, Roxanna Wingate (Bobby) of Seaford, DE, Mike Jefferson (Stephanie) of Seaford, DE, Ronda Jefferson (Richard Tucker Jr) of Seaford, DE, Darlene Daggett of Millsboro, DE, Sandra Seymore of Laurel, Terry Showard of Mending, OH, and Louis DiSanto of Titusville, FL; daughter-in-law Joyce of Hebron, MD, son-in-law Anthony Houston; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his daughter Mary, his son George, siblings, and son-in-law Jerry Showard.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N Shipley St., Seaford, DE 19973, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Concord United Methodist Cemetery, 25326 E. Second St., Seaford, Delaware, 19973.
