Sherry L. Buchanan's Obituary
Sherry L. Buchanan of Seaford, Delaware, aged 76, went to join the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Born on October 24, 1949, in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late William "Earl" Fry and Verna Irene (Earnest) Fry.
Sherry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She found great joy in hosting family gatherings, preparing meals with love, and creating lasting memories with those she held dear. Sherry’s home was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness.
A woman of deep faith, Sherry shared a close relationship with God and found wonder in all of His creations. She faithfully devoted time to Bible studies, worship, and praise, drawing strength and comfort from her faith throughout her life.
Sherry loved spending time in nature, especially near the water, where she enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets. She treasured walks through the woods with her beloved husband, Bill, particularly during the beauty of the fall season. Sherry embraced life with gratitude and rejoiced in the beauty of God's world, often listening to Hymns and Christian music.
In her younger years, Sherry had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed roller-skating, drive-in movies, cookouts, and days at the beach. One of her greatest joys was dancing anywhere and everywhere with the love of her life, Bill. In her later years, Sherry found pleasure in completing countless word searches and coloring in adult coloring books.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Bill, and her brothers, John and Butch.
Sherry is lovingly remembered by her five children, Robyn, George, Bill, Joy, and Stephen; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sister, Roberta; her brother, Larry; and countless friends and extended family members whose lives were blessed by her kindness, faith, and unwavering love.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved Bill and resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord. Her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
