I'm so sad to just hear about the passing of Stan. Along with being my father's partner while working at Washington MPD, he was also one of my father's dearest friends. They were so close that I would refer to him as Uncle Stan. My father's funeral was the last time I saw Uncle Stan, in tears but also being supportive during that difficult time. My sincerest condolences go out to all of his family and friends. I will always remember him as a standup person, role model, and member of my family. I'm sure he and my father have reunited and watching over all of us.

I was saddened to learn of Stan's passing. We were partners from '86-'88 in the Robbery Branch and my nickname for him was "Big Slim" that originated from the owner of a restaurant in Chinatown we used to frequent. He was a solid guy and a solid detective who loved his family and was extremely proud of a young grandson at the time. I was pleasantly surprised to see, among the photos, a picture of him on one side of me and Bob Rafferty on the other side at a department related dinner. Pop loved me and my brothers as if we were his own. He never treated me like a ‘step’ child. (Judy was my birth mother). He was a kind, generous, and loving man—a big teddy bear. He taught me to love baseball and not to settle for what my biological parents thought I could accomplish—be more, do more. I loved you, Pop—always. Thank you for the random calls through the years. You were an inspiration.
