Susan L. Porter's Obituary
Susan Lynne Porter, lovingly known as Sue, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, in Seaford, Delaware. Born on February 11, 1951, in Accomac, VA, to George and Alice Coverdale, who preceded her in death
Sue was a proud alumna of Millsboro High School, and she furthered her education at War Wic Tech in Wicomico County. Her career was marked by her role as a head cashier at Super Fresh, where she was known for her unwavering dedication and service to the community.
Her passion for life shone through her multitude of interests. Sue was an exceptional cook, an artistic cake decorator, a talented painter, and an avid fisher. Her love for gardening brought beauty to her surroundings, while her joy in dancing enlivened every gathering. Sue was actively involved in her community, exemplified by her volunteer work at the East Side Men’s Club and her membership at Moose Lodge 654.
She is warmly remembered and greatly missed by her daughter, Cora Ann Absher; her sister, Cynthia Rust; her brothers, George C. and Miles Coleman Coverdale; her grandson, John -Tyler Absher (Michelle); her granddaughter, Amber Lynne Barnes; her great-grandchildren, Redden, Laklyn, Dawson; and Brianna Rae. Her cherished nephews and nieces, and her longtime companion, Jim Windsor, who preceded her in death.
Her memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories and hearts of those who loved her.
