Tomiko Turner's Obituary
FLORIST NOTE: PLEASE DELIVER ALL ARRANGEMENTS BY 1PM THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2020 TO WATSON-YATES FUNERAL HOME.
Tomiko Turner, age 85 of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. She was born on November 11, 1934, daughter of the late Uschiichi and Kame Fukuchi.
Mrs. Turner was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan, and it was there that she met her future husband and love of her life, Elbert Frederick Turner. With him, she moved to the United States, and together they started their family, raising 3 beautiful children. Mrs. Turner was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Moose Lodge, all in Seaford. Her pasttime activities in her younger years included weight training and personal fitness programs with her husband. Other interests included pool, bowling, and crocheting. Mrs. Turner also enjoyed gardening and especially loved orchids. Where others have no luck getting an orchid to bloom, she was always showing off her beautiful blooms. Above all, she treasured moments spent with those she held most dear. She was the matriarch and glue of the Turner family; a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Elbert F. Turner. She is survived by her sons: Elbert Turner III (Maria McCarthy) of Seaford, DE and James Turner (Jennifer Ayres) of Poland, OH; her daughter, Wanda L. McCracken (Skip) of Seaford, DE; her grandsons: James McCracken (Brittany) of Denton, MD, Ryan McCracken (Rose Thibault) of Millsboro, DE, Kyle McCracken (Angie) of Easton, MD, and Eric Turner (Naomi Harding) of Poland, OH; her granddaughters: Nicole Turner and Raven Turner, both of PA; her great-grandchildren: Brielle, Nalani, Ryan Jr., Jaxson, Everly, and Camden; and her loyal canine companion, Sheba.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a member of the Parsell Funeral Family, 609 East King Street, Seaford, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at 1:00 PM, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Turner's memory to the Loyal Order of Moose, 22759 Bridgeville Highway, Seaford, DE 19973.
