Vera Wooters-King's Obituary
Vera Louise Wooters-King, age 80 of Federalsburg, MD, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, at TidalHealth-Nanticoke, in Seaford, DE. She was born on February 7, 1941, in Easton, MD, daughter of the late Norman J. and Thelma L. Wooters.
Vera held different positions in various companies. She worked for Tasty Freeze in Federalsburg, MD, Airpax Co., Black & Decker, and Celeste Assembly Co. Vera loved the outdoors and enjoyed everything about being outside. She took pleasure in mowing her lawn, planting flowers, and creating beautiful gardens. Vera adored animals, particularly dogs and horses. She was an avid horseback rider, as well. Vera liked listening to country music and was an excellent cook. As the matriarch of her family, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her huge heart and kind disposition will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her adoptive parents: Roy and Ada Vickory; her son, Jay Arthur; her grandson, John; and her brothers: Art Wooters and Bucky Wooters. She is survived by her children: Verna Hearn of Lewes, DE, Sherry Arthur of Cambridge, MD, Pandora Marceline of VA, Lonnie Adams of Seaford, DE, and Rayna Adams (Martin Brown) of Seaford, DE; her grandchildren: Heather, Willy, Dawn, Robert, Melissa, Chad, Matthew, Khrista, Andrew, Tabatha, Rhonda, and Paige, and her 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Vera’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
