Wayne Kincaid Lukert's Obituary
Wayne Kincaid Lukert, age 66 of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cordova, MD, on Tuesday, July 31, 1951, son of the late Louis B. and Florence L. (Harris) Lukert.
Mr. Lukert graduated from Laurel High School, Class of 1969. In 1970 he began a lifelong career, proudly serving in the United States Navy, until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Lukert's interests were many and varied. He enjoyed dining out, reading, westerns ~ in particular, John Wayne movies~, keeping up to date on the latest computer technology, and spending time with his loyal canine companion, Buddy. Mr. Lukert was a loving and devoted brother, uncle, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
Mr. Lukert is survived by his sister, Malinda Berkey and her husband Karl of Seaford, DE; his nephew, David Berkey of Federalsburg, MD; and his companion, Karen McCurdy of Seaford, DE.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a member of the Parsell Funeral Family, 609 East King Street, Seaford, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Lukert's memory to the American Heart Association: 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101; Newark, DE 19713.
