Christopher Walker Bennett's Obituary
Christopher Walker Bennett, 63, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2024, at his home in Greenwood, DE. Born on December 2, 1960, in Seaford, he was raised in Mardela Springs, MD.
Christopher is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Judy Kay Bennett, loving father to his daughter, Chrystal Lee Lapointe of Warwick, RI, his stepchildren, Jennifer Potts of Camden, DE, Richard (Trey) Potts III (Nicole) of Snow Hill, MD, and Jessica Potts of Princess Anne, MD, his brother, Steve Bennett (Karen) of Monessen, PA, and sisters, Brenda Mack of Lewes, DE, and Glenda Williams of Tyaskin, MD. Christopher is also survived by his grandchildren, Alyssa Rivera, Contessa Rivera, Owen Smith, Sarah Potts, Neal Potts, and the newest apple of his eye, great-grandson, Blu Kimling. His nieces and nephews will miss his kind presence and the wisdom he imparted.
Christopher was predeceased by his parents, James Spencer Bennett and June Watson Bennett, and his sisters, Lori Bradley of Long Neck, DE, and Connie Berry of Hamer, SC. Their memories were held close to his heart, as he often recounted stories filled with love and nostalgia.
Christopher attended Mardela High School in Mardela, MD. He made his career as a long-haul truck driver. Christopher’s favorite pastimes included riding his Harley, with his wife Judy on the back, getting into political discussions on the internet and having a good debate. He also enjoyed Judy's cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
At home, Christopher found comfort and companionship in his pets, Callie, his loyal dog, and Buster, his favorite black cat who was always by his side. They were his constant shadows, providing unconditional love and joy.
Those who knew Christopher will remember him for his razor-sharp wit and making people laugh. Christopher Walker Bennett will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Woodland Community Church, 5123 Woodland Church Rd., Seaford, DE 19973, where family and friends may begin visiting at 1:00 pm.
